Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Jacob Gole' after 'Mattijs Pool'. Jacob Gole (ca. 1660-1737) belonged to a group of French refugees who came to the Northern Netherlands in the end of the 17th. Century. He worked in close collaboration with Cornelis Dusart and specialized in the making of mezzotints. Mattys Pool (1670-1732) worked as a printmaker/publisher in Amsterdam. He travelled to France.
