Description: Rare, from a set of 4. These prints were also found among the remains of the "Behouden Huis" in Nova Zembla. State: Only state Ref: New Hollstein(Van Mander) 42.

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Jacques de Gheyn' after 'Karel van Mander'.  Jacques/Jacob de Gheyn II (Antwerp c. 1565 - The Hague 1629) was a Dutch painter and engraver, whose work shows the transition from Nothern Mannerism to Dutch Realism over the course of his career. He studied under Hendrik Goltzius in Haarlem. Karel van Mander (1548-1606) was active as painter, poet and designer. He orginated from Flanders, but moved to the Northern Netherlands around 1583.

Condition: Good, given age. Thread margins, some old folds and some staining. All four corners clipped diagonally, remargined on the rear with contemporary paper. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
