Description: Published by Cornelis Soetens & son in The Hague between 1836 and 1840. Portrait of the publisher Daniel Elzevier.

Artists and engravers:Made by Carel Christiaan Antony Last after Bernard Picart. Carel Christiaan Antony Last (1808-1876) was a Dutch draughtsman, lithographer and artist. Bernard Picart (1673-1733) was a French painter and engraver. He received his art education from his father, Etienne (1632-1721), from Le Brun and Jouvenet at the Royal Academy. His talents developed rapidly: at the age of sixteen he gained honors at the Academy of Paris.

Condition: Good, given age. Ample margins. Small tear in right margin, consolidated with acid free tape. Fold lines at lower left. Some foxing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
