Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Claes Jansz. Visscher' after an anonymous artist. Claes Jansz. Visscher (1584-1652) came from a family of shipbuilders and fishermen. He started one of the largest printpublishing companies in Amsterdam in the 17th. Century. Being a gifted artist himself, he made many fine prints.
