Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Cornelis Ploos van Amstel/Johannes Körnlein' after 'Cornelis Visscher'. Cornelis Ploos van Amstel (1726-1798) was active as merchant in Amsterdam. He was an avid collector of art and invented a method of making prints after drawings from his own collection. Cornelis Visscher (Haarlem, 1629-1658) was a Dutch Golden Age engraver and brother of Jan and Lambert de Visscher.
