Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Reinier Vinkeles' after 'Jacob Buijs'. Reinier Vinkeles (Amsterdam; 1741-1816), was an 18th-century painter and engraver from the Northern Netherlands, who was the later teacher of several talented artists. He studied for some ten years with Jan Punt and joined the Amsterdam Stadstekenacademie Jacobus Buys (1724-1801) was a Dutch painter and engraver, born in Amsterdam. He studied under C. Pronk, Jacob de Wit and Cornelis Troost.

Subject: Antique Master Print, titled: 'Cornelis Ploos van Amstel.' - Portrait of the Dutch art collector Cornelis Ploos van Amstel. Cornelis Ploos van Amstel (1726-1798) was active as merchant in Amsterdam. He was an avid collector of art and invented a method of making prints after drawings from his own collection.
