Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Cornelis Ploos van Amstel/Johannes Körnlein' after 'Philips Wouwerman'. Cornelis Ploos van Amstel (1726-1798) was active as merchant in Amsterdam. He was an avid collector of art and invented a method of making prints after drawings from his own collection. Philips Wouwerman (1619-1668) was a Dutch painter of landscapes, hunting and battle scenes.
