Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Claes Jansz. Visscher' after 'Cornelis Claes van Wieringen'. Claes Jansz. Visscher (1584-1652) came from a family of shipbuilders and fishermen. He started one of the largest printpublishing companies in Amsterdam in the 17th. Century. Being a gifted artist himself, he made many fine prints. Cornelis Claes van Wieringen (1577-1633) orginated from Haarlem. He specialised in naval / marine subjects.
