Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Cornelis Ploos van Amstel/Cornelis Brouwer' after 'Thomas Wyck'. Cornelis Ploos van Amstel (1726-1798) was active as merchant in Amsterdam. He was an avid collector of art and invented a method of making prints after drawings from his own collection. Thomas Wyck (ca. 1616-1677) was a Dutch etcher, painter and draughtsman.
