Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Laurent Deroy' after 'Louis Maurice Adolphe Linant de Bellefonds'. Isidore Laurent Deroy (French; 1797-1886) was a French painter and lithographer, active in Paris. He was a student of Cassas and Felix. He made his first lithographs for this work. Louis Maurice Adolphe Linant de Bellefonds (1799-1883) otherwise known als Linant Pasha was an explorer. He participated in the building of the Suez channel.
