Description: Published by the famous printer Delatre in 1844. State: Second state of 2. Ref: Guiffrey 47.

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Charles Jacque' after own design. Charles-Emile Jacque (1813-1894) was a very respected French painter, sculptor and engraver / etcher of mostly landscapes and animals from Paris. He was trained as cartographic engraver. Later he developed a very free style in etching. He is considered one of the more interesting 19th. c. French artists.

Condition: Very good, given age. Large margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
