Description: Very good early impression. This and Guiffrey 31 and 22 appear to be etched on the same plate and to be separated. State: First state of 3 Ref: Guiffrey 29 Figure.

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Charles Emile Jacque' after own design. Charles-Emile Jacque (1813-1894) was a very well respected French painter, sculptor and engraver / etcher of mostly landscapes and animals from Paris. He was trained as cartographic engraver. Later he developed a very free style in etching. He is considered one of the more interesting 19th. c. French artists.
