Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Cornelis Ploos van Amstel' after 'Jan de Bray'. Cornelis Ploos van Amstel (1726-1798) was active as merchant in Amsterdam. He was an avid collector of art and invented a method of making prints after drawings from his own collection. Jan de Bray (Dutch; 1627-1697) was active in Haarlem. He was part of the artists family De Bray.
