Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Gillis van Scheyndel' after 'Willem Buytewech'. Gillis / Aegidius / Georg van Scheyndel / Scheijndel / Scheindel / Schendel (c. 1595-c. 1662) was a Dutch Golden Age etcher and designer. He worked in Amsterdam. His work is close akin to the prints of Jacques Callot and Jan van de Velde II. Willem Buytewech (ca. 1591-1624) originated from Rotterdam. He specialised in genre pieces and landscapes.
