Description: Rare, illustration to the historical "Divisie" chronicle, printed in Leiden by Jan Severts. Ref: New Hollstein 267b Provenance: F. G. Waller (Lugt 2760) and Doublet Printroom Amsterdam (Lugt 789a).

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Lucas van Leyden' after own design. Lucas van Leyden (1494 - 1533), also named either Lucas Hugensz or Lucas Jacobsz, a Dutch engraver and painter, born and mainly active in Leiden. Lucas van Leyden was among the first Dutch exponents of genre painting and is generally regarded as one of the finest engravers in the history of art.
