Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Marie Katherina Prestel' after 'Willem van de Velde '. Maria Katharina Prestel (1747-1794) worked together with her husband Johann Gottlieb Prestel (1742-1808) on several collections of printdrawings. They reached a very high quality in their prints. Willem van de Velde (1633-1707) was, like his father, a Dutch painter of marines. His brother, Adriaen, specialised in landscapes.
