Artists and Engravers: Made by M. Schaep after Cornelis de Wael. Schaep was active around 1650. Not much else is known about him. Cornelis de Wael (1592-1667) was active as painter and art dealer. He stayed in Italy for a large part of his career. It is not clear whether he made prints himself.
Subject: Antique Master Print, untitled. Mediterranean harbour scene. Sailors are mooring a ship in harbour, while the captain gives directions.
Condition: Good, given age. No margins, a few small stains. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
