Artists and Engravers: Made by 'John Collet ?' after own design. Possibly: John Collet (1725-1780) was an English satirical artist in the style of Hogarth. He was a student of Lambert. His main themes were low life, social weakness, debauchery and absurdity.
Subject: Antique Master Print, titled: 'The carnal Jesuit, or wolf in sheeps cloathing.' - A priest harassing a woman; he pulls down her dress to bare a breast.
Condition: Very good, given age. Ample margins, some foxing in the margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
