Description: Individually published master print. State: Second state of 2. Ref: Hollstein 13. This print was made after a painting which was attributed to but is no longer accepted as Anthony van Dyck.

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Willem Basse' after 'Johan Boeckhorst'. Willem Basse (ca. 1613-1672) was active in Amsterdam was influenced and is sometimes seen as a pupil of Rembrandt. In 1634 they both worked on illustrations for a work by Elias Herckmans: ´Der zeevaart lof.´ Basse did not always sign his work which caused it to be attributed to others like van Ostade, Bol and others.

Condition: Very good, given age. Very good impression, no margins, laid down on an 18th. Century support. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
