Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Gerard Valck' after 'Abraham Bloemaert'. Gerard Valck / Gerardus Valk (1652-1726) was an engraver and a printseller in Amsterdam. He was specialized in cartography and globes. His Celestial and Earth globes were innovative, based on the latest scientific information with less text and images. Abraham Bloemaert (1566-1651) was a Dutch painter and etcher/engraver. He was one of the 'Haarlem Mannerists', but shifted towards a more Baroque style around 1600.
