Description: Rare. State: First state of 2. Ref: IFF 10? Provenance: Anonymous (Lugt 2859c).

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Theodore Gudin' after own design. Jean Antoine Theodore de Gudin (1802-1880) was a French marine painter and etcher, born in Paris. He painted navy scenes and was a pupil of Girodet-Trioson. Gudin was one of the first Peintres de la Marine, at the court of Louis-Philippe and Napoleon III.

Condition: Fair, given age. Small margins on three sides, some surface soiling. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
