Description: Source unknown, to be determined. State: Second state of 2. Ref: Wurzbach 7. Provenance: J. H. Halbertsma (Lugt 1473). Rare.

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Aart Schouman' after 'Frans Hals'. Aart Schouman (1710-1792) was active in Dordrecht. This multitalented artist made paintings, watercolours and prints. Frans Hals (ca. 1583-1666) is considered to be one the best portrait & genre painters of the Dutch Golden Age.
