Description: One of the many prints after designs by the Flemish landscape artist Paul Bril. Since it has a number, it must belong to a series of landscapes, published by Pierre Mariette I (1603-1657) in Paris.
Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Anonymous' after 'Paulus Bril'. Anonymous Paul Bril (1554-1626) was a landscape painter who worked in Rome, although born in Antwerp. This type of landcape, known as vedute ideate or vedute di fantasia, is a typical example of his best-known work.
