Description: Very nice colered proof before final lettering. State: First state of 2 Napoleon.

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Charles Motte' after 'A. Champion'. Charles Motte (1785-1836) was one of the early lithographers in Paris, where he started in 1817. He published a vast amount of lithographs, including early work by eugene Delacroix.

Subject: Antique Master Print, untitled. Depiction of Napoleon becoming a member of the Institut in 1797.

Condition: Excellent, given age. Ample margins, some foxing. Small tear in right margin, consolidated with acid free tape. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
