Description: The subject of this print is not fully identified. State: Second state of 2. Reference: Montaiglon 276. Allegory on the benefits of true faith.

Artists and engravers:Made by Claude Mellan after own design. Claude Mellan (1598-1688) was a French painter, drafsman, etcher and engraver. He was active in Paris and later became court engraver. He invented a new way of use of the echoppe-etching needle . His prints show a high quality of lines.

Condition: Good, given age. Small margins, central fold and remains of paper from previous attachment on rear. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
