Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Jan Caspar Philips' after 'Jasper Boonen'. Jan Caspar Philips (1690-1775) was born in Germany, but settled in Amsterdam, where he became the teacher of his nephew Caspar Philips and (in 1725), the engraver Simon Fokke. Jasper Boonen (1677-1729) worked in Dordrecht as a portrait painter.
