Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Charles Baugniet ' after an anonymous artist. Charles Baugniet (1814-1886) was a Belgian painter, draughtsman, engraver and lithographer from Brussels. He was a pupil of the Brussels Academy and Jos. Paelinck.
Subject: Antique print, titled: 'J.B. Madou.' - A half-length seated portrait of Jean Baptiste Madou. Jean Baptiste Madou (1796-1877) was a Belgian painter, etcher and renowned pioneer lithographer.
Condition: Very good, given age. Remains of attachment to carrier to the rear of the sheet. Small tear in lower left margin edge, reinforced with acid free archival tape. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
