Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Richard Earlom' after 'Anthonie van Dyck'. Richard Earlom (1743-1822) was an reknown English mezzotint engraver. He displayed great skill as a draughtsman, and at the same time acquired without assistance the art of engraving in mezzotint. Anthony Van Dyck (1599-1641) was a Flemish Baroque artist who became the leading court painter in England after enjoying great succes in Italy and Flanders.

Subject: Antique Master Print, titled: 'Sir Thomas Chaloner.' - Portrait of Sir Thomas Chaloner (1595–1661), an English politician, commissioner at the trial of Charles I and signatory to his death warrant.

Condition: Very good, given age. Ample margins. Paper a little weak on the platemark. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
