Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Cornelis Ploos van Amstel/Cornelis Brouwer' after 'Karel Dujardin'. Cornelis Ploos van Amstel (1726-1798) was active as merchant in Amsterdam. He was an avid collector of art and invented a method of making prints after drawings from his own collection. Karel Dujardin (1622-1678) was a Dutch Golden Age painter of Italianate landscapes and genre subjects.
