Artists and Engravers: Made by 'J. Lewis Marks' after an anonymous artist. J. Lewis Marks (ca. 1796-1855) ran a public house and printshop, mainly producing satirical prints and caricatures.
Subject: Antique Master Print, titled: 'A chip of the old block' - Satire on wooden legs. Both father and daughter have a peg leg.
Condition: Good, given age. Small margins, some surface soiling. A tiny spot of surface damage where a small crease broke the paper. A small sharp crease in the lower margin and lower edge of the image. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
