Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Louis-Leopold Boilly ' after own design. Louis-Leopold Boilly (1761-1845) was a French painter and draughtsman. He was a gifted portrait and genre painter. He became famous with his expressive depictions of caricature.

Subject: Antique Master Print, titled: 'La bonne aventure.' - ('The fortune teller'). An old crone reads a young woman's palm, with her beau looking over the old woman's shoulder.

Condition: Very good, given age. Small margins. Margins discoloured from previous matting. Left margin uneven from binding. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
