Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Edme Jean Pigal' after an anonymous artist. Edme Jean Pigal (1798-1872) was a French genre painter, designer and lithographer from Paris. He was a student of Gros. He worked in Paris as a caricaturist and exposed at the Salon from 1827-1870.

Subject: Antique Master Print, titled: 'A bon vin point d'enseigne.' - Satire on the abuse of alcohol showing three drunken men outside an outhouse.

Condition: Good, given age. Margins cropped close to the image edge, some staining and surface soiling. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
