Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Heinrich Merz' after 'Wilhelm von Kaulbach'. Heinrich Merz (1806-1875) was active as engraver and a pupil of Samuel Amsler. Wilhelm von Kaulbach (1805-1874) was a painter particularly known for his large wall and ceiling paintings of historic and literary themes.
