Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Frederique Emilie Auguste O'Connel' after own design. Frederique Emilie Auguste O' Connel (1828-1885) originated from Brussels. She had a famous "Salon" in Paris around 1850. O'Connel died tragically forgotten in an asylum near Paris in 1885.
Subject: Antique Master Print, untitled. The Penitent Saint Magdalene. She looks up at a crucifix with tear-filled eyes.
Condition: Good, given age. Margins cropped to the platemark. Top left and right corners damaged, restored with contemporary paper backed with acid-free archival tape. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
