Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Ludwig Gruner' after 'Johann Friedrich Overbeck'. Ludwig Gruner (1801-1882). Johann Friedrich Overbeck (1789-1864) was one of the modern artists in the early 19th. Century, who travelled to Italy. He and others were heavily influenced by the pre-Gothic art and called themselves the "Nazarenes".
