Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Cornelis Ploos van Amstel/Bernard Schreuder' after 'Jan de Bray'. Cornelis Ploos van Amstel (1726-1798) was active as merchant in Amsterdam. He was an avid collector of art and invented a method of making prints after drawings from his own collection. Jan de Bray (ca. 1627-1697) was a Dutch Golden Age painter, His works are mainly (group) portraits and historical allegories.
