Subject: Antique print, titled: 'Den door list en geweld aangevallen leeuw.', (The lion is attacked tricks and violence.) Broadsheet / Political satire / caricature print relating to the Dutch-Anglo political happenings of 1780 and the armed neutrality. The Russian prince Galilitzin waits for an answer to the armed neutrality. The Dutch lion is attacked and blinded by the French ambassador, a Spaniard and a former Jesuit to persuade him to action. On the background of a map Portsmouth, Amsterdam and Brest are indicated. Near Portsmouth lies the convoy of Bijland held by Fielding. On the left a opportunist monk is pulling a cart, bringing attractive supply to dwell the fighting heratics. With explanatory text 1-9.
