Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Augustin de St. Aubin' after 'Jean Baptiste Greuze'. Augustin de St. Aubin (French; 1736-1807) was a famous engraver / illustrator, brother of Charles Germani and Gabriel. He was a student of his brother Gabriel, then Fernand and Laurent Cars. He worked after famous artists like Boucher and Greuze. Jean-Baptiste Greuze (1725-1805) was a French painter, born in Tournus. He was taken under the wing of Grandon, who later took him to Lyon and Paris. From 1757 he exhibited in the Salon of the Academie.
