Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Bartolomeus Dolendo' after own design. Bartolomeus Willemsz. Dolendo (1571-1629) was a Dutch draftsman and engraver, active in Leiden. He is a typical Mannerist engraver, probably a student of H. Goltzius or J. de Gheyn. Dolendo is supposed to be the mentor of Gerard Dou. In 1622 he worked on the perspectives of Jan Bredeman de Vries. He is the brother of Zacharias Dolendo.
