Description: From the edition printed by Michel Odieuvre in his set "Portraits des personages illustres..", published between 1735 and 1745. State: Second state of 2. Reference: IFF 146, Montaiglon 176. Portrait of Jean Pierre Camus.

Artists and engravers:Made by Claude Mellan after own design. Claude Mellan (1598-1688) was a French painter, drafsman, etcher and engraver. He was active in Paris and later became court engraver. He invented a new way of use of the echoppe-etching needle . His prints show a high quality of linework.

Condition: Very good, given age. Ample margins. Some foxing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
