Subject: Antique Master Print, titled: 'M. re Dreux D'Aubray [..]' - Interesting portrait of Antoine Dreux d'Aubray, who was poisoned by his own daughter. In 1666 father Antoine Dreux d'Aubray was poisoned by his daughter, Madeleine-Marguerite de Brinvilliers and her lover, captain Godin de Sainte-Croix, also called the Chevalier de Sainte Croix. In 1670 she had also killed two of her brothers, Antoine and François d'Aubray, to inherit their estates.
Condition: Good, given age. No margins. Some foxing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
