Description: One of the typical prints after the designs of Cornelis Troost. Troost depicted many plays in his work. State: I (2). Ref: Niemeijer n. 399 T.

Artists and Engravers: Engraved by Jacob Houbraken after C. Troost. Jakob Houbraken (1698-1780) was one of the typical 18th. Century engravers, who produced a great number of book-illustrations in the taste of the time. He also engraved many portraits and some spearate prints after contemporary masters.

Subject: Antique print, untitled. It shows: De ontdekte schijndeugd ('Faux virtue discovered'). This depicts the servantgirl Belitje with her boyfriend Dirk having fun with a play and wine.

Condition: Very good, large margins, Very early and crisp impression General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
