Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Abraham Blooteling' after 'Pietro Berretini'. Abraham Blooteling (1640-1690) was active as etcher and mezzotint engraver. He worked in London for a while and was one of the important promotors of the mezzotint in England. Pietro Beretino / Berrettini / da Cortona (1596-1669) was an Italian painter and architect. He was the leading Italian Baroque painter of his time and, along with his contemporaries and rivals Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Francesco Borromini, was one of the key figures in the emergence of Roman Baroque architecture.
