Nilson was a very important German Rococo miniature painter, designer and engraver from Augsburg. His work is present in many collections worldwide. He was called the "German Watteau". Johann Evangelist Holzer (1709-1740) originated from Austria. He worked in Augsburg as a fresco painter.
