Description: Early impressions are very rare. Apparently Everdingen did not make many impressions from his plates. Most of the impressions found, date from an edition printed around 1796.. State: IV (4). Ref: Hollstein 16.
Artists and Engravers: Made by A. van Everdingen after own design. Allart van Everdingen (1621-1675) was active as a painter in Amsterdam. He traveled to Norway to make paintings of the landscape for the Trip family, who had gunfoundries there. After this trip, most of his landscapes have a Norwegian theme.
