Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Eugene Deveria' after an anonymous artist. Eugene-Francois-Marie-Joseph Deveria (1808-1865) was a French history painter from Paris. He was a pupil of Girodet. He worked in Paris and later Avignon. Printed by H. Gaugain.

Subject: Antique Master Print, titled: 'Le Talisman.' - Scene from a novel by Sir Walter Scott ("They then turned the gleam of both light upon the knight and accurately surveyed him"). The knight is startled by two dwafs/gnomes with oil lamps and exotic dress.
