Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Claes Jansz. Visscher' after 'Abraham Bloemaert'. Claes Jansz. Visscher (1584-1652) came from a family of shipbuilders and fishermen. He started one of the largest printpublishing companies in Amsterdam in the 17th. Century. Being a gifted artist himself, he made many fine prints. Abraham Bloemaert (1566-1651) was a Dutch painter and etcher/engraver. He was one of the 'Haarlem Mannerists', but shifted towards a more Baroque style around 1600.
