Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Jan van de Velde' after own design. Jan van de Velde II (1593-1641) came from the southern Netherlands as a fugitive around 1600 to the Netherlands. His father was a writingmaster and Jan trained as an etcher. He produced many highly important series of landscape prints.
