Description:

Artists and Engravers: Made by Jan de Visscher after Nicolaes P. Berchem. Nicolaes Pietersz. Berchem (1620-1683) was a Dutch painter of Italianate pastoral landscapes. Numerous of his paintings were engraved by famous engravers such as Boucher, Oudry, and Fragonard. Figures always feature quite prominently in his paintings. Jan de Visscher (1636-1712) was a Dutch Golden Age engraver who became painter later in life. He made numerous etchings after Wouwerman and Berchem.

Subject: Antique print, untitled. Landscape with cattle near a ruin. A shepherdess and several dogs accompany the cattle while crossing a river.

Condition: Very good, given age. Attached to carrier. Pencil annotations below the image. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
