Description: Rare proof of this print. Quinkhard only made four etchings. State: I (2). Ref: Wurzbach 2.

Artists and Engravers: Engraved by Julius Quinkhard after Metzu. Julius Quinkhard (1736-1776) was active in Amsterdam as a painter. He copied after older masters.

Subject: Antique print, untitled. It shows: the Herringseller, a female fishmonger at a market.

Condition: Very good, no margins. Proof impression with annotation by the artist, mentioning on verso "tweede proef" (second impression). From the collection of K. E. von Liphart (Lugt 1678). General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
